Edward

Edward was born the last of four sons. When Edward was very young, his father left his mother to marry another woman and stopped providing financial support for Edward and his three older brothers. Left in a rented room with no land on which to grow food, life became a constant struggle. Edward’s mother had taken a tailoring course before marrying, so she was able to make some money sewing for people. Earning enough to help them survive and to pay for her sons to attend school, his mother was able to eke out a living with her sewing. Unfortunately, by the time Edward was in high school, her eyes began to fail and her back began to hurt to the point that she was no longer able to sew. Edward helped earn what little money he could during school holidays by working for other people.

When Edward was in 10th grade, his father finally began to help pay for part of his school fees. Unfortunately, a year later his father died suddenly, leaving Edward without his support. Shortly after his father’s death, Edward began attending a Christian high school that offered a working program in exchange for part of his school fees.  He was able to complete high school and take the national exams. His desire is to learn sustainable and profitable agricultural skills, making a way to provide for his mother and family.
