Dennis was born the first of six children. His parent’s limited education and lack of land to farm meant daily food and basic needs were constantly lacking. Dennis made it through his elementary school years through relatives who often paid his school fees. A generous aunt paid for his first 2 years of government high school. When she was unable to continue helping, Dennis was forced to quit school. He determined to work wherever he could to find a way to complete his education. Over the next 2 years, he worked for a company earning less than $1 a day. Noticing Dennis’ desire to complete his education and his willingness to work hard, a family friend offered to pay for another year of school. Dennis then heard about a Christian high school offering a program where he could work for a portion of his school fees. Applying his hard work to the program, he was finally able to complete high school and take the national exam. Now in Launch Uganda, Dennis’ dream of entering the medical field and providing for his family is within reach.
